Summer Reading Program

Library Staff Highlight

Carrollton Public Library welcomes the newly hired Children/Circulation Librarian, Corina Thorne.  Corina is a native of Mexico and speaks both Spanish and English fluently.  Corina and her husband have three children and reside in Carrollton.  Corina is excited to learn more about the library, our programs and services the library offers as she excels in customer service and computer technology.  Look for the library to have more story times with a bilingual twist.  Welcome to the library, Corina! Recepción a la biblioteca, Corina!

Say “Hola” to Miss Nette.  Lynnette Cowherd is the library’s Summer Reading Program Manager this year.  Lynnette, along with her husband and two teenagers, reside in rural Carrollton.  Lynnette will bring 21 years of experience working with children of elementary ages as a Speech Language Pathologist in surrounding school districts.  “Miss Nette” is known for her work with children with autism, speech, learning and behavior disorders in young children.  Look for your child to learn while having fun this summer with Miss Nette.

2013 Theme is "Dig into READING" for elementary aged children, "Beneath the Surface" for YA teen readers and "Groundbreaking Reads" for the adult audience.
